The Public Works Department consists of both the Street and Sanitation Departments. The Street Department takes care of right-of-way maintenance only. Any private property issues should be addressed with the City of London’s Building Inspector.
The Sanitation Department takes care of residential and commercial garbage collection. They also operate a convenience station (Monday – Friday, 6 AM -1 PM) on Highway 192 East for city residents to dump garbage. All garbage is weighed and charged accordingly.

City of London Garbage
Garbage will run every holiday except Thanksgiving and Christmas Day; and as with every day, always have your bin out by the city street no later than 9 PM on the night before your garbage pick-up day.
* All garbage must be placed into provided green Herbie Curbie containers only, privately owned garbage cans or barrels will not be emptied.
Junk or Brush Pick-Up
Once the homeowner has either their junk items or brush (six (6) feet or less) put out by the city street, give Public Works a call (606) 864-5521 and they will put them on the pick-up list. Allow up to three (3) business days to remove. No tires, paint, or any hazardous material will be picked up.
Minimum Fee: $21.76
Full Load: $29.03 per load
Ton Truck: $52.59 per load
- FREE residential curbside Spring Clean-Up is the entire month of April.
- FREE residential curbside Fall Clean-Up is the last two weeks of October.
