Mayor Weddle joined Building Inspector Josh Wilson as he spoke to junior and senior high school students at the Laurel County Center for Innovation.

In support of the Mayor's Community Outreach Program, Mr. Wilson partnered with CFI to deliver a lecture to engineering and industrial maintenance students about the significance of building codes. He emphasized that these codes often stem from past tragedies and highlighted their critical role in safeguarding lives through adherence.

The Redbud Ride 2024 sure was a Sweet Sixteen Saturday. Partly cloudy skies greeted more than 600 cyclists for the 16th running of the popular ride that started at the London Community Center and continued through Laurel, Jackson and Rockcastle Counties. The 7:30 a.m. starting time was a little cool, but the sun came out and warmed up the temperature nicely as the morning continued. Riders used strategically-placed rest stops to refuel and to shed some clothing layers.

Cyclists came from all over Kentucky and surrounding states to take in the beautiful scenery along four routes ranging from 24 to 100 miles. Thanks to all the volunteers who produced another successful Redbud Ride in the Cycling Capital of Kentucky.

The 2024 Town Center Park Concert Series kicks-off on Friday, June 7 with Eddie Montgomery! Bring a lawn chair or blanket and join us for a great evening of live music beginning at 7p.m. Both Phoebe White and Spitten Image will open the evening of free entertainment on the Town Center Stage presented by London Tourism & Parks. Food and beverage vendors will be on site. Plenty of parking in downtown London, including the lot behind London Elementary School. Additional details released the weeks before the event.
