Lights Over London is back in the skies above Downtown London this Christmas season on Friday, December 15, with an extended ~15-minute drone show. The same show will launch at 8 p.m. and 9:30 p.m., featuring 200 synchronized drones, showcasing new designs, and capturing the spirit of the season! While Town Center Park is the prime viewing spot, almost anywhere in downtown London will be great for viewing, though the show will face west.

Food Trucks will begin serving by 6 p.m. Entertainment at the Town Center Stage and costumed characters mingling around the park will begin shortly after. Eateries listed on the map are those who plan to stay open for extended hours on Friday evening. The time for Santa at the CVNB Gingerbread house has changed to 5:30-730p.m. Please note a friendly reminder from the City of London Police: please ensure you're parked before the drone shows begin and avoid stopping in the middle of the street.

Mayor Weddle recently had the honor of sitting down with Bart Jones to shine a spotlight on the outstanding efforts of the Backpack Program of Laurel County. This incredible non-profit organization is making a profound impact by putting together bags of food for kids in need.

The Backpack Program's mission is nothing short of inspiring – ensuring that no child in our community goes to bed hungry. With unwavering dedication, they assemble bags filled with nutritious essentials, bringing hope and nourishment to the young hearts that need it most.

Mayor Weddle expressed his pride in supporting such a vital cause, emphasizing the significance of helping the youth in our beloved community. Witnessing the collaborative efforts of the compassionate Backpack Program team and the many volunteers is heartening.
